A journey that began in 2024
Collecting memorabilia, researching historic crests and organising the archive are our starting points. This research and planning now form a coherent project, open to contributions from across the city.
The foundation
A vision for Catania.
The Catania Heritage Foundation Project began in 2024: researching, collecting and preserving the heritage of Calcio Catania. Our history. Their future.
Catania Heritage is a foundation project dedicated to preserving Catania’s football heritage in all its forms: memorabilia, historic crests and trademarks, documents, images and personal accounts. It welcomes everyone from Catania and anyone who wants to preserve this story, make it accessible and pass it on to future generations.
Preserving for the long term
Our commitment embraces memorabilia, historic crests and trademarks, photographs, documents and oral histories. Collecting and cataloguing objects, tracing their provenance and working to protect historic symbols all serve the same purpose: preserving Catania’s history and what it means to its community.
Public institutions as natural partners
Catania City Council, the Sicilian regional government and football clubs are the partners we hope will join us in developing the foundation project. We invite them to share its cultural aims, responsibilities and plans for the future.
A shared heritage. A part for everyone.
Everyone from Catania, whether living in the city or elsewhere, and anyone who cares about this heritage can find a place in the project. Families, supporters, collectors, researchers, schools and associations can contribute stories, materials, time and expertise. The foundation we envisage will care for a shared heritage, with the community at its heart.
Foundation · Supporters · Club · Institutions
A shared history. A shared commitment.
Catania Heritage seeks to bring supporters, the club and public institutions together to preserve Catania’s football heritage. Supporters are central to this work: their memories, personal accounts and treasured objects keep a story alive across generations.
The foundation aims to bring this community involvement together with the expertise and responsibilities of the club and public institutions. By working together, with respect for each partner’s role, we aim to care for memorabilia, documents and historic symbols, make this heritage accessible and pass it on to future generations.
